21c Museum Hotels is committed to the Health and Safety of our teammates and guests. We have collaborated with top experts in the fight against COVID-19 to revise our already stringent cleaning protocols to providing the safest workplace as possible. These new protocols include:

  • Social Distancing: We have added signage throughout our properties to encourage distancing among our teammates and guests. We have also spaced our various fixtures within our properties, such as tables in our restaurants to encourage safe distancing.
  • Required Use of Masks: Teammates and guests alike are required to wear masks at all times while in public spaces within our properties. Masks must cover the nose and mouth.
  • Health Screenings: All teammates and guests are required to go through a brief health screening process before entering our properties, this includes touchless temperature checks and a health questionnaire about possible exposure as well as symptoms related to COVID-19.
  • Cleaning & Sanitizing: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing of our public spaces, particularly of those high-touch areas, such as door handles, handrails and elevator buttons.
  • Frequent Hand Washing: All teammates are required to wash their hands frequently for at least 20 seconds while working. We have also increased the number of hand sanitizer stations throughout our property to prevent the spread of germs or other contaminants.

Title:  Bartender - Cashier

Reports To:  Restaurant General Manager

General Purpose:  The Bartender-Cashier provides timely, accurate and friendly service in taking and ringing in orders and prepares the highest quality beverages for guest.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Reports to work on time and ready for scheduled shift.
  • Understands roles within the steps of service and can execute on those steps.
  • Rings in and handles payment for all on-site guest transactions as the cashier.
  • Knows all food menu descriptions and is able to answer guest questions about the menu.
  • Provides superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards.
  • Knows drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes as well as the short wine list.
  • Has a deep knowledge of spirits and specialty beverages, i.e. bourbon, specialty drinks, beer list.
  • Ensures all stock is to par levels.
  • Completes daily inventory and communicates any changes, or limited quantities.
  • Verifies all guests ordering alcohol are at least 21 years of age.
  • Sells beverages responsibly with customer's best interest in mind.
  • Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift, and maintains all POS transactions in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Maintains smooth flow of service between guest orders and service techs.
  • Completes all sidework as outline on sidework checklists.
  • Assists in sanitizing high-touch points and surfaces according to the cleaning procedures.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift.
  • Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the bar area.
  • Receives and applies criticism in a positive manner, even from fellow teammates.
  • Assists with/executes any and all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follows all proper sanitation guidelines.


  • Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
  • Responsible, dependable, punctual.
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Clean and professional appearance.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.
  • Exhibits strong beverage knowledge.
  • Must pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.
